01:25 am - because I need to leave a record of it somewhere... What started out as my being disgruntled to hear heels coming up the stairs at 1am, progressed in to me losing my shit upon being propositioned by a stripper.
"Do you want to see me naked? Want me to dance for you? Do you have any bisexual tendencies? I have jaeger. Here, feel my ass."
I started crying, I laughed so hard. OMG you don't even know.
For clarification my roommate drives strippers as a second job, hence the stripper in my house.
So now I know the next time I hear heels coming up my steps that I don't need to venture out and investigate. Unless I'm feeling adventurous, I guess.. Current Mood: amused

11:16 pm - cookie ideas Little known fact about me.. I can bake some of the best cookies and cakes you'll ever eat. Lately I've been on a cookie kick. The most recent experiments have been banana-chocolate chip, orange-cinnamon, and lemon-ginger. The lemon-ginger were my favorite, but the banana got the best reviews. The orange-cinnamon tasted like Christmas.
I'm looking for new creative ideas for cookies. Anyone?
I'm planning to make a lavender cake for April's birthday, and am thinking about lavender-white chocolate cookies too. Does anyone know where I can get fresh lavender? Current Mood: sleepy

11:59 pm Today I got a professional massage as a gift from April.
The first time in 6 months I've been touched by a man and it's because he was paid.
Apparently, however, I am very limber. The word "contortionist" was tossed about. Who knew?

04:49 pm - the real update you've all been waiting for In short, I'm the worst at skipping town. Let's recap.
2008 started out as the best year imaginable. Long story short, if it seems too good to be true, it probably is. I'm done ranting over the atrocities that took place during the latter portion of the year, though I'm far from recovering emotionally.
I went to Virginia and Chicago to visit family and friends, respectively. I came back with the intentions of relocating to Flagstaff for a while. I had the going away party and everything. I was going to do it. After returning to CA to tie up some loose ends and sell the bike, I started staying with my friends April and Tom, intending to stay for only a few weeks. I went back to work to make a little extra cash, and got April hired on there to replace me. The weekend before I was set to leave, Tom got word that he would be working a job in Thousand Oaks that would keep him out of town for a month. Adding to this, April does not drive. So the Saturday before my departure date I decided to stay until Tom got back to keep April company, carpool to work, etc. (It snowed a foot the day I was to arrive in Flagstaff).
I was never previously bound to a set time schedule at work, but since I took on the responsibility of driving April to work, and she was bound to a set time schedule, I started coming in early every day. Somewhere along the line the words "raise" and "promotion" started being thrown about. The current manager of our Newport store is leaving May 1st to tour with his band, leaving behind both his position and apartment.
Which brings us to right now. Do I continue with my plan to skip town, in hopes that there's a place for me when I get back, and that my work will accept me? Turns out I'm boring (read: growing up) and these are opportunities I can't justifiably pass up.
So here I am. Preparing to move into a sweet apartment in Dana Point (with a garage! and a dishwasher!) next month, set with my job, and doing pretty damn well for myself, all things considered. I got the bike running right for the first time since I've had it (my two center carbs weren't working properly), and I've realized that I can't sell it no matter how much I talk about it. I love that bike like no one's business.
I've got a nice chunk of cash saved up that was supposed to be my "drifting fund." Instead I got myself a nice pair of riding gloves, and am looking into a pair of riding boots and a Disneyland season pass. Oh, and an apartment. Possibly a Coachella ticket to see Paul McCartney as well, if anyone else wants to go.
Tomorrow I have an appointment to see a guidance counselor at Saddleback to take care of my academic renewal, apply for my AA, and finish up whatever I need to transfer. Filled out my enrollment application today, submitted all my FAFSA info, and will be petitioning some classes in a few weeks. I'm really excited to go back to school, and this time I will finish it. I'm getting too old for this. I'm looking forward to volunteering with the geology department again. Those weekend trips kept me sane, and I don't have the time to go to the desert on my own anymore (let alone find someone to go with me).
I'm hoping to start working on Pilgrim again, which will be easy since I'll be just up the street. I keep having dreams that I'm going to go sailing, but the boat leaves without me, usually because I'm too preoccupied with something else. Story of my life?
Pretty much everyone I've talked to (except Paul) has agreed that 25 was perhaps the worst year of their lives, and that nothing seemed quite as bad after that. This has been greatly reassuring. I can't even believe that stuff that has gone on this year. I said from the beginning that if things didn't work out with me and J that I'd go to Chicago. I know that, as much as I want to, I need to stop running. I'll always end up back here anyway, and I'm ok with that. Not that I won't jump at every roadtrip and/or sailing opportunity that comes along. I mean, this is me.
So there you have it. Hope all are well. Current Mood: sore
